On May 24 at about 10:00 pm my water broke and Pops got Mom in the car and we were on our way to Emanuel!
Moms was in labor until about 10:30 am on May 25th, when the docs were convinced that my huge melon was not going to make it out the old-fashioned way and off we zipped to the O.R. for a c-section. I was born at 11:00.
Aunt Heather, Grandpa Jeff & Grandma Vicki were among my first admirers...and the SnowSchros stopped by later to bring Pops some sushi for dinner after he'd had enough of the delicious hospital food.
Not so sure I like it out here...

Day 2: Tuesday 5/26
Miss Christy was my first visitor. She brought donut holes from Sesame Donut, which my Pops thought was super cool. Mom snuck one before she was officially given permission to move to solid foods and agreed--that was some good fried dough! Also got to chill some more with Grandma Vicki, met cousins Rashad and Kiauna (who are delivering a buddy for me in July and I'm psyched!), and the night ended with Mister Steve who brought me a cool teddy bear.
I always have a smile for Grandma!

Day 3: Wednesday 5/27
Hung out with the nurses in the nursery so Pops and Moms could get a chunk of sleep overnight and Moms even let Pops go home so he didn't have to sleep on the 5-foot long plastic mattress they call the partner's bed here at Emanuel. Maxwell is at Uncle Bob and Aunt Heather's so Pops just hung with my feline sibs last night. Apparently, Emmitt can feel a disturbance in the force because he wouldn't even cuddle with Pops...
Anyway--today I met Cousin Rhonda, Uncle Denny and Aunt Dawnn, and Miss Susan. Grandma Vicki brought Katy Jo who showed off her babysitting skills (looking forward to hangin' with you and Miranda soon, cuz...aargh), and Aunt Heather came back again to check out the progress on my conehead. Uncle Bob came by too! What a day! Tonight is "date night"--I'm putting Moms and Pops to bed and going back to hang with the ladies in the nursery. They totally dig me.

Pops-it's only Day 3 but I've already worn him out!
Day 4: Thursday, May 28 (My ACTUAL Due Date!)
Today started like many others--residents, doctors, and nurses filed into the room one by one to ask Moms the same questions about various bodily functions. First of all, I know I'm only 3 days old, but wouldn't this be more efficient if they all came at once so Moms doesn't have to say the same things over and over and over and over again? And second, I've got to confess to being a bit jealous. I thought they would only care about that stuff when it comes to ME. They're showing way too much concern about her. We all know I'm the cute one they should be checking out.
I got to meet my Great Uncle Merv and Great Aunt Barbara today, and my Great Aunt Allison. I also met Mister Norm and Malik. As we have already established, I'm irresistible, which resulted in several ladies popping by to get another look at me: Granny V, Katy Jo, and Miss Kirsten.

Katy Jo & Aunt Allison
Today's May 29 - one day after my due date. And I'm home. Pops threw one quick distraction blow to the nurse's temple while Moms grabbed me and ran. I wowed my lady friends at the nursing station on the way by - they never knew what was up.
I got home today and met some sort of large animal I understand is some sort of brother. As far as I know, I can take him. But, to be honest he doesn't scare me as much as the sister I haven't seen yet. She creeps me out. I also understand that some sort of "special" sibling is coming home from Auntie Heather's tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes.
