It's February, and I am growing like a weed. My 6 teeth are coming in handy and I like to chew on anything within their zone. My parents are getting a little embarrassed that my daycare report cards keep saying I've bitten one of my friends or caregivers, but even the professionals agree there's nothing to be done yet to prevent it...except giving me a teething ring. Still, I have a strong preference for Moms' shoulder, which is why she's taken to calling me "Hannibal" lately.
While making some Jambalaya, Pops let me try chewing on some celery
It's fine but I do not do too good a job once I bite a chunk off just yet
On Saturday February 6, Moms and Pops had date night at the Lakers-Blazers game. The Blazers lost at home to the Lakers for the first time in 9 games at the Rose Garden. Moms takes small comfort in the fact that Kobe Bryant wasn't playing and therefore gets no credit for the end of that streak. Granny and Gramps came over to hang out while Moms and Pops were out.
Despite the loss, we were feeling in the team spirit the next morning so before my bath I got dressed up in some Blazer gear. Pops went out early that day, so Granny and Gramps came back over to hang out with Moms while we got the house ready for a small Superbowl party. I got a little hair cut from Moms and then a bath. Then Mr. Norm, Miss Tida, Mr. Matt, Miss Anna, Mr. John, Miss Kirsten and my buddy Jack came over to watch the game. Jack is almost as tall as me now, but I still have him beat in girth and head circumference! (I'm not sure either of those two things are worth bragging about, but I'll take what I can get...)

Moms, will you peez bring your shoulder over here for some chewing?
No? Okay...Hey, Pops, whatcha doing?
I hope that you enjoyed the vid of me crawling to my Pops at the end of the day. I light up when I see my parents...especially Pops. I've also started occasionally getting misty when they drop me off. I like to make Moms feel bad, but I'll let you in on a little secret--as soon as they turn around to walk off I'm happy and smiling and playing with the cool toys!
On Saturday, February 20, Moms had a girls' night out with cousins Miranda and Katy Jo. They went out to dinner and then she took them to see "Legally Blonde the Musical." Fortunately, Pops and I didn't have to go. Instead, Pops took me to Bowling for CourtCare, a fundraiser. I saw lots of my parents' friends and colleagues, and I finally got to meet Ava Shoen. Hubba hubba! Check out the pix below.
The next day, Moms and Pops and I got my new play pen ready for my pal Jack to come over with his Mom. The weekend before we went to Babies 'r' Us on a Saturday to get the gates and flooring. I spend tons of time in there with my parents. I like to dance to the tunes on all my musical toys and play with my toys from Auntie Feather and Uncle Bob. I didn't even mind sharing with Jack.
The week of 2/21 was eventful. On Sunday after my playdate with Jack, Granny V and Gramps came over while my parents went to the Blazers-Jazz game. The Blazers blew a 25 point lead in the 3rd Quarter and the Jazz won it in overtime. My parents were sorry they stayed up past their bedtime to see that!
On Wednesday Grandma Karen came for a quick visit. She arrived after my bedtime Wednesday but she was there when I awoke Thursday morning, and she got to check out my daycare. She was impressed with the facility and my caregivers. Thursday night the Howitt family came over for dinner...or so I hear. Moms and Pops insist on keeping my bedtime consistent so I was already snoozing by the time they arrived. I really want them to come back soon so I can hang with Hailey and Sawyer--they're older than me but I think we could have some fun.
Today, Saturday the 27th was one of the best days ever!!! After we took Emmitt and Layla to the vet (and I got to see lots and lots of other pets) the sun was shining and my parents decided to take me to THE ZOO. It was A W E S O M E. I'm extra excited because they bought a membership so we can go all the time. Also impressive was the two hour nap I took after seeing all the sights and enjoying the fresh air!
Heading in to the Zoo. Moms made sure I had the monkey hat on for the occasion (courtesy of the Shuford family!)
