Party People! Have you missed me??? I have to apologize for the amount of time that has passed since my last update. It's been super-busy at Chez Moawad. Moms has been working on a big case (more on that later) leaving Pops and I to fend for ourselves a LOT more than usual. Moms usually assists me with this site and, while Pops is capable of assisting me, he's been so busy child-proofing the house that he doesn't have time to sit at the computer.
ANYWAYS: June started off great. The first weekend was nice and sunny, and we headed over to the Lesh Family's house because Mr. David was just giving away free tomato plants and, more importantly, we wanted to meet Rhett, their newest addition. Added bonus: I got to chill with PorterLesh again, which is always super fun.
Upon arriving at the Lesh Family Compound I was dismayed to learn there were other cute kids around stealing my spotlight
Baby Rhett and his Moms. They are standing right next to me & Pops. I know it seems like they must be 6 feet behind us...but they're not.
Mr. David's yard. Fair to say he spends a BIT more time in his than my parents do in ours.
Welcome, Baby Rhett!
That night, my parents went to a surprise birthday party for Miss Kim. They claim to have had fun, but with a "no kids" prohibition I really struggle to see how that could have been possible. Anyway, Cousin Katy Jo and her pal Rachel came over to keep me company.
My sitters did some homework, and left a note behind for Pops on the camera. Moms didn't find it for weeks after, and then she laughed really hard!

On June 8th things got pretty crazy. Moms got a call from Mr. Rod asking her to head out to the Skyline School area to help on a big case. Since then, she works nights and weekends. Those first few weeks I almost forgot what she looked like!
On June 9th--THE VERY NEXT DAY--I took my first steps. And now I walk all over the house. Pops has stepped up like a champ. Some days he has me all to himself ALL day long, and he chases me around and keeps my fingers out of outlets, without complaining (much...) I'm proud to report that I've only had TWO bloody lips, too. Good job, Pops!
Even though Moms was working day and night, she made time for Cousin Kevin's high school graduation party. I smartly dressed in a preppy outfit courtesy of Auntie Feather. I got to see her along with lots and lots of my family members.
I wasn't totally comfortable walking yet, so I stayed on Pops' lap for a lot of the time. Granny V and Gramps snatched me away a few times, and as long as I couldn't see Pops it was fine. I still prefer him above and beyond anyone else (though Moms will do in a pinch).
What is "High School" anyway?
And now: the Rest of June in Photos. Enjoy.
Uh, hello? Don't put me in this chair if you're not going to feed me!
BANANAS!!!! (also yum)
Okay, SO: I balanced my blueberry on my sippy cup, then I c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y lifted my cup up to my mouth and CHOMP! I ate the blueberry. I am very creative when it comes to ingesting food.

Moms tells me that Martha Stewart has some "double issue" magazines, and so does Entertainment Weekly from time to time.
So, she says, it's okay if we combine June and July this year since she's been so busy.
We spent the first weekend of July at Bridgeport Village, so Pops could get his NEW iPHONE. He loves it. You'll see some of the vids he's taken of me below.
While Pops waited for his new phone, Moms and I tried on some hats at the stores.
"After all, tomorrow is another day!"

Moms has let the housework go a bit...so I pitch in whenever I can
Pops played golf one morning, so I went to work with Moms. I tried to help out there, too. If only I could talk!
Stop laughing. Meals are serious bidness.
Ah! Who am I kidding?!?!?!
On July 13, my Great Aunt Allison lost her brave battle with cancer. Moms went to see her on Saturday, and then Pops and I joined her to say our good-byes on Monday night.
Because of my daycare germs, we didn't get to visit Aunt Allison as much as we would have liked to this year, but I did get to see her from time to time. She LOVED babies, and Moms tells me that Aunt Allison was one of the best Mommies EVER. I believe her, because Jordan, Kevin and Katy Jo are pretty cool. In fact, she loved babies so much that even when she was her sickest, as soon as Moms and I sat down next to her bed, she said, "Hey Owen." It made me feel special, which was one of Aunt Allison's greatest gifts. She made everyone feel so good. RIP, Great Aunt Allison. I know my life is a little bit sadder without you in it, even though I'm only 1...
Dry those tears. Here's a video of me meeting Reggie and his brother while we were visiting Auntie Allie.
Shot by Pops on his new iPhone...next time he'll remember you can't "rotate" the image like you can a camera. I hope.
The only thing I like better than eating is bath time. I got these cool bath toys from the Massines for my first birthday. I love trying to trap the fish in the hatch door of the boat. When I actually do it, I think I'm pretty much the coolest thing EVER.
When it's not bath night, any body of water will do. Check me out at Jameson Square. We went there to see Moms' old friend from high school, Mr. Ian, and his family, who were in town visiting from Massachusetts.
As you can see, I'm really getting the hang of this whole "walking" thing. Moms also thought it was funny watching me see an older kid splash and having to do it myself.
On Sunday July 18, I took my parents to the Zoo. They really love it there. It was kind of a gray morning but we still had a lot of fun. Pops decided it was time for me to try my first Elephant Ear. I would like to take this opportunity to say one thing about that: YUMMMM. The line is always super long for Elephant Ears at the Zoo. Moms learned the hard way that's because they make them one by one. It takes a while, but that warm fried dough with sugar on it is about the best thing ever.
I do not like to wear hats.
After the Zoo, Moms strapped me into the Ergo Backpack and did some yard work. I stuck it out for about an hour before I'd had enough. I hear that's usually more than Pops can handle. She even brought out a blanket and tried to get me and Pops to keep her company on the grass while she worked. No thanks, lady, we'll be inside watching a sporting event of some kind...ANY kind!
Even though I don't like the hats, I think you'll agree--I rock it.
At the end of the month there was a MAJOR development in my world: I graduated from the infant room and moved up to the next room at my daycare. Moms and Pops could hardly believe I was already old enough to go.
The only bummer about moving was saying good-bye to Miss Joy, my caregiver. She was great, but I really like my new caregiver Miss Stacee.
It took me about a week to adjust to my new room, and for the first time ever I cried every day that Moms dropped me off. But now I'm a champ and I hardly even notice when she walks out of the room!
Taking Dino and the Cowboy for a quick walk.
All that walking made me hungry.
Sweeping up in my diaper. Keeps my clothes clean.
On Sunday July 25, Granny V and Gramps came over and Moms and I went to Wallace Park with them. I went on the swings, the slides, and basically acted like I owned the place. Check out the video of me on the swing below.
I howl with delight when Gramps comes to see me at daycare.
Checking out Gramps through the window of the playhouse.
