August was super-duper-busy y'all. We went out of town twice--Pops three times--and when we were here, we were running this way and that!
The first weekend we went to the Yolanda House Auction, which is something Granny works very hard on every year. I was pretty shy all night. This was due in part to an interrupted nap, because Moms had the start time wrong...so we hustled out of the house only to discover we were two hours early. I was off my game, is what I'm trying to say.
I also changed rooms AGAIN at daycare. I'm now officially a "pre-schooler."
Checking out the band Flat Stanley @ the Auction. They seriously rocked. I was obsessed with the drums.
My new Toy Story sleeping bag, necessary for sleeping bag days at school
Channeling my inner Erik Estrada
Me and Pops: off to Bridge Pedal!
We pedaled over 6 bridges!!!!
Me & Maxwell--see the movie version of this photo below!
Pops reads me a book at a restaurant
One day, Gramps came and picked me up from daycare to take me to a Fire Station! I was SO EXCITED!!!!! I love firefighters, I love firetrucks, and Grandpa knew that so he took me to a station house. The firemen were all really nice to me and explained how things around the place work.
But I didn't get to slide down the pole: LAME!
Sitting in the fire truck
Lights and Sirens!
Another kind of truck
On August 18, we met my grandparents for breakfast because they were heading out of town and they needed a little O-Mo time.
Pops then headed off to test drive a motorcycle.
Moms and I skipped out on the fun, and headed to the Zoo instead...
Seriously, I would spend my whole zoo trip here if I could
You have no idea the elbows Moms had to throw to get me my turn on this tractor. She is old school.
Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls
The Jack Attack turned 3.
His parents threw him another kick a$$ party. There was a bouncy house. AND a bouncy house slide, that was a little too scary for me...........
The Bouncy Water Slide from the outer edges. Still cool....
Basketball in a Bouncy House. NOT easy.
Back at the edge of the Bouncy Water Slide. Still wouldn't try it.
Can you understand why?
Jack's new neighbor is kinda famous. I'm not a name-dropper, but Moms thought standing next to him was just DUCK-y.
All the Kids at the Party
Me and the Birthday Boy--
--hangin' loose (and obviously spending too much time with a certain Hawaiian party guest!)
On August 23-24, Pops had a CLE in Seattle so Moms and I skipped out of town to have some adventures together!!!
We left P-town late Wednesday night to check into our hotel...that was overbooked...so we got moved to a sister hotel....that then kicked us out the next day to move back to the other hotel.....it was very annoying: I'M LOOKING AT YOU HYATT SEATTLE!!!!
Even though there was no place for me to nap on Thursday, we had a great time. We started the day at Pike Place Market at the Original Starbucks! Then we had some pastries with our coffee / chocolate milk. Fortified, we headed to the Seattle Aquarium.
It was my first Aquarium ever and It. Was. Awesome.
The OG in the Original Starbucks. Two things: 1. They don't sell pastries. 2. It's not stroller friendly.
A Diver was Feeding the Fish! It was SO COOL.
I also thoroughly enjoyed the Sounds of the Seas
Riding an Orca. FREE WILLY!!!
Anemones in the Tide Pool
Seastars in the Tide Pool
The Underwater Dome: saw more fish being fed here!
After a full day at the aquarium, I didn't even NEED a room to get a good nap
As you can see above, the minute the stroller hit the pavement I was OUT like a light. Moms pushed me back up to our hotel, with a quick stop in a drugstore. She knocked over a few items off the shelves trying to get my stroller through the aisles, but I snoozed on through.
In fact, I was asleep until we got into the very quiet elevator at the (new) hotel...I woke right up at that point, and then we hung out and waited for Pops to finish his class.
Pops didn't want Moms and I to have all the adventures, so once he got back to the room we walked to GameWorks and had a little quality arcade time.
I had no idea what was in store for me
Neither did Moms
Pops gives me a few pointers
Ready for my first class at Thunder Ranch!
When in Seattle one must channel their inner Hendrix
And their Inner Grohl
After a rough night's sleep (I still don't do well in hotels--I get so excited to be hanging out with my parents!) Pops got up for another day of class and Moms and I got up for another day of ADVENTURE!
We went to Buck-Stars (what me and Gramps call Starbucks...) for breakfast and then we took the MONORAIL to the Pacific Science Center. I was super-excited to see the dinosaurs there, but there were all kinds of other neat things to see and do while we were there too!
Waiting for the train
One of the things to do? BUBBLE FEST!
Dinosaur feet are big y'all
Their jaws are too!
Is this how big scorpions are in real life?
In the butterfly room
Moms thought this was cooler than I did......
After this, we went to the Planetarium and took a trip to the MOON!
Loved this car because it had a light! I couldn't stop driving it....
The helicopter was cool, too!
My first Photo Booth: I thought this was the COOLEST THING EVER once the pix got printed!
Outside playing in the water!!!
After our Seattle adventures we headed home. I crashed out in the car.
The next day Pops had a Fantasy Football draft so Moms and I had a chance to go on another adventure together, but this one was local....
....and Moms may not get points for originality, because it was back to the zooooooooooo. But I get where she's coming from: when the sun's out, we should be out in it!
I love the elephants so, so much
A little climb in the snake exhibit
Needs more cowbell
I'm a little bearcub!
The next day it was a family adventure to Jameson Square with the Shoens.
It was not the warmest day to hang out at a water fountain, but I had a blast nonetheless!
This year Moms remembered my bucket, so I didn't have to take Ava's
Moms also brought extra containers that I loved!
Baby Michael, bringing the Lashes and the Cute
Me. Ava. Bucket. Fountain.
Taking 5 to warm up
Ran into one of my pals from daycare there too! We were total boys: WATER FIGHT!
I got to spend the last day of August with my grandparents because daycare was closed. We headed off to the beach, where Moms met up with us later in the day. Pops went on his own Dude Trip...
That's a big pumpkin!
I love working in the garden with my Grandparents
More on our weekend at the beach in September! Stay tuned..............
