2014 started off great. Me and my new kitty, Bullseye, started to hang out. It was nice to finally have a pet who didn't bolt into the basement as soon as I wandered up to her. (Once again, I'm looking at YOU, Layla). After a jam-packed Christmas season, things were slightly lower key...for me. My parents, on the other hand, were in Seattle for Seahawks playoff games and Justin Timberlake concerts. Even though this is technically MY life story, I'll let you see some of the pix from their adventures too.

This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship
New Year, New Hair. I'll have what he's having.
Resting with Bully
She didn't even seem to mind when I smushed her in between my knees!
Moms is pretty shameless when it comes to brainwashing me into loving the Hawks
Before abandoning me at the crack of dawn to head to Seattle for the NFC Championship Game, my Moms stopped to take this picture with me. Solid parenting right there.
HAWKS WIN! The beat the 49ers! And nothing weird or controversial happened after the game so just settle down and be happy for my team.
While my parents were toasted, I was busy toasting the Hawks victory from my grandparents' bathtub
Moms was so toasted she let Auntie Feather kiss her and everything
Just shy of 2 weeks later, I was back at my Grandparents' house. Abandoned again.
Pops looks pretty broken up about leaving me to head to NYC to see his Hawks in the SuperBowl, huh?
Moms looks pretty sad too. Oh, and #PDXCarpet.
The Empire State Building had some serious team spirit
I would be remiss if I didn't thank Mr. Sean and Miss Alafair for allowing my parents the use of their apartment while in NYC. Also, I hear they had a great time with old Aloha friends Mr. Chuck and Mr. Chris, who also flew across the country for The Big Game.
I'm happy for them, really I am.

Weeeeeee are the Champions!
Post-game. Don't they seem too happy for people who have been apart from me for three days?
V is for VICTORY!
Listen, I'm as happy as the next guy for my parents that the Seahawks FINALLY won a Super Bowl and they got to be there to see it.
BUT CAN WE PLEASE GET BACK TO THE REASON FOR THIS BLOG NOW??? As it turns out, my parents got back home from NYC and my Pops basically turned around and left again the following weekend. This time he had the common decency to leave my Moms at home with me.
No sooner did he leave for Southern Oregon with his boss than the snow started falling in Portland. Pops out of town when the snow falls so hard that we're housebound? That's never happened before! (That's pre-schooler sarcasm, in case you can't tell. He's always out of town when the snow dumps. Always!)
My 1st Snow Angel.
The snow was too powdery for a good snowman
But it was good enough for throwing at Moms!
One drawback of exceptionally long eyelashes is the way snowflakes catch on them.
Moms took me for a walk in the snow--it's harder than it looks
My mood improved when Moms gave me her much warmer gloves
Trying to catch some snowflakes on my tongue
The next day we sent Pops a picture of the ice layer under the snow, so he knew what he was in for
KING OF THE MOUNTAIN: keeping with the theme of what a COINCIDENCE it is that Pops leaves town just in time for a snow storm, our neighbor Mr. Doug shoveled our driveway for Moms. Again.
Hey Snowgirl. What's up?
Snow Day! Staying home from school!
And cuddling with my kitty. (I also got really good at XBox while Moms did conference calls)
